I intend to actually, would only be a temp thing, but who knows when Summer rolls around and I've got 4 months free.

And no Frank, I don't think I'd enjoy it. Sure I love bitching, but I'd never get elected. No good at tempering my views when it comes to things I care about, so I'm sure I'd offend EVERYONE at some point or another. God knows you can't have an opinion nowadays without it being a human rights violation. "We should audit the social housing residents" "OMG. DISCRIMINATION!" "We should cut the 770k the city provides for Francophone daycare spaces with no money going to Anglophone ones." "OMG. DISCRIMINATION" etc. etc. And god help you if you tell the social housing people that cockroaches only show up if there's food for them. Clean your pigsty up and they'll vamoose pretty quickly. I have a friend that works as a city exterminator, and all the social housing units he gets called to for cockroaches are always disgusting, or their neighbors place is. You'd think with the city all but giving them a house, they could be expected to throw out their own garbage once in awhile.

I lived near social housing a few times and they were always dumps. I don't understand this myself, but it seems to be a strong correlation; if you get a free house, you let it go to shit.

Anyhoo, interesting that he offered you a job, sounds like it went rather well. You should be proud Meer, it seems you know what you are talking about and how to express it, I think my eyes would glaze over if that would of been me.

if i voted, i'd vote for you meer.

unfortunately, your opinions are based around Comon Sense. which is no longer so common.
and in canada, common sense looks like neo-nazi campaigning. because our country is ridiculous.

remember Mike Harris's Common Sense Revolution? many of his opinions and views are similar to yours.
he was just reviled by any public servant (federal, provincial, teacher, city, etc) which makes up like 40% of the province and 75% of ottawa. treated like some sort of antichrist for trying to stop wastes of money.
but its canada! wasting money is our biggest industry!
nowadays those same public servants treat harris like some kind of bad war in the past. like some objectively bad period of time.

i'm with you on all of these points meer, you dig that. but unfortunately comprending your opinions requires a few ounces of thought, immediately preventing the moronic drooling herds that are 90% of our population from voting for you.

It's internet slang meaning "I didn't read what you posted; it was too long.

Although usually tl;dr is added at the end of a long post with a shorter version of the post, not just a complaint.

TL;DR
tl;dr: Lazy public servants don't like cool politicians who make changes happen and and doesn't afraid of anything.

But when government does things without going to the competitive market, how do you measure competency (or in our case, lack thereof)?

The only part of Harris' "revolution" I was opposed to were his reforms in education. Not that I minded only having to go to High School for 4 years rather than 5, but I was in the double cohort year (the year the OAC's and Grade 12s graduated together) so our curriculum all through High School was woefully incomplete (half of our classes didn't even have textbooks) and it was a constant struggle to get noticed in a graduating year with double the normal students heading off to post-secondary. Super lame.
