If there are any important announcements concerning the commnity, they'll appear here.

The only thing this has to do with Ashes' banning is that this event happened shortly after his getting banned from the forum.

This whole thread was made based on an un-investigated, single instance of a PM from someone claiming they were trolled.

Well considering there's a log file of the event it's not entirely uninvestigated. Though if it's just the one incident it may have been jumping the gun a little but there's been alot of that going on lately from quite a few people, not just the admins.

In my opinion, telling someone that you're onto their game and not to show up at an event touting questionable content is hardly trolling. Done in an inappropriate way, maybe, but again, how does this constitute the forums or Ashes' banning in any way?

I dont know what you've heard, but from what I've heard it basically amounted to an outright threat and a definate flame. Still, at this point I think the log should be posted so people can at least see what caused all the fuss.

I also vote that an apology be issued.

And I'd personally be voting against that given Ashe's history both here and elsewhere. Ashes has a very long history of flaming and trolling people. It's not always so much what opinions he's expressing either, as it is HOW he's expressing them. Or going way overboard doing it.

While I have agreed with him time to time on certain things, I've never agreed with the way he takes certain things to outright harassment.

Log was posted two posts back. It's the image.

Based on that, do you really think it was in the administrator's right to make a post warning an entire city about the Evil Ashes?

Actually, technically it DOES have something to do with Capfurs. That log is in direct response to a thread that was posted here by some one who was banned from the forum for their constantly breaking the rules. Not to mention that Ashes has gone a few times so far as to actually skirt with Canadian laws on internet based harassment from what I've seen of his behaviour.

It's one thing to disagree with some one. It's another to go to the extent he has on several occasions.

Which went up as I was writing the post in question.

Calling Captial Furs the 'entire city' is abit much. That said? Yes. I think they were justified in at least issuing a warning that Ashes was adding people to MSN to flame them over things being said on this forum, because that is exactly what he did.

Considering the history of his behaviour both here and elsewhere, including the fact that this is not the first place he's found himself banned from, the fact that it was intended as a 'heads up' for others is hardly out of bounds.

While this forum doesn't have a block button, messenger clients most certainly do.

Which means, that I think, in general:

What people do elsewhere should have no bearing on the forums, unless it is criminal or exploitive

People will be offended sometimes.  If you're butthurt by someone ONLINE, well, I don't care.  Block and move on.  I don't see it as something worth all this notoriety drama.

The administrative staff have done something that was completely and utterly pointless by even passing on this "warning" AT BEST.

IK, even if someone is flaming, what the hell would a warning accomplish?  Who here needs to "brace themselves" or "be ready for" a conversation over an IM client?

Wi wins points for a flawless argument.

Bonus points for the use of the the word 'butthurt'.

Drama 0, Wi 3.

Fair dice, Wi. Perhaps we jumped the gun on the warning. I got this information the same day Ashes was harassing ME over MSN about his ban (after bragging about 'saving' the fandom from the thread of Dogcock 101) so perhaps I was stil steamed when I wrote this. I'll talk to Meer and we'll decide what's to be done about this warning. It was never intended for this thread to remain for ever, just until the initial problem had passed.

EDIT: We've discussed it and decided that this thread will remain up for 2 more weeks. Should the activity in question stop (and I'm pretty sure it already has), then the thread in its entirety will be removed.
