Garbage just heaps up.
Recycling and reusing varies the ways in which waste is distributed.
Just because some people make money off of the process doesn't mean it's as bad as being buried in trash.

oh there's nothing wrong with making money. i love money. money is the best.
no, really. THE BEST. nothing is better than money. fuck i love that stuff.

alot of people don't think about it, but manufacturing items, such as those stupid plastic eco bags, and especially manufacturing the materials (plastics, paints, dyes, glues, textiles, timber, metals, fuels) that go into items, pollutes alot.
pollution is alot more than gas burning and garbage piling up.

i personally don't beleive a thing about this environmental crisis. its all a bunch of crap, and we're not significant enough to impact the climate of the entire planet, especially when it changes on its own too. we're being lied to, and nobody's questioning it. everyone is swallowing the message.

darky, you gotta chill out man. again. glass of wine, newspaper. a nap. relax dude. i hope you're not always this defensive. it'll kill you some day.

Dude, electric cars are a PERFECT example of that. The production of them pollutes just as much as the production of a gas-powered car and the amount of electricity it takes to power one causes just as much pollution.

Also, I agree about us being lied to. Just recently, there was a biiiiig climatology conference in the US where the world's top climatologists gathered. Pretty much all of them debunked the whole global warming thing (or at least Man's part in it) as complete rubbish. The world, they decided, is still coming slowly out of the last ice age and the planet is experiencing its usual, natural thaw. It's been happening all throughout the history of our people and only now, when we notice it, do we have the arrogance to take credit for it.

I believe in keeping the air and water good and clean because we breathe and drink that shit but global warming? Pah.

As for recycling, I do it. Mainly so I don't go through garbage bags as quickly.

yes! YES!!! i tell so many people those same things. that electric cars pollute just as much (without the incredible reliability of the internal combustion engine). and that alot of science disagrees with global warming.

everyone is buying into the lies, litterally and figuratively. i think it makes them feel special and important and different and helpful and unique without actually working towards acheiving something.

to think i worried about not fitting in due to paranoid blue collar views...

Although I do hope you understand that the combustion engine is necessarily on its way out.
Oil is getting harder to get and far more expensive because of it... and it's running out. Not running out as in gone tomorrow, but compared to what once was... it's getting thin.

I also think pouring trash into the air and water will come back to bite us a lot sooner than we think. Because it already has.
Google 'garbage continent'.

I think that it's sensible to come up with solutions AHEAD of time rather than just freaking out and using whatever idea we come up with first when the well suddenly runs dry.

I'm not concerned about emotional responses, I deal in practicalities. And saving the earth now rather than trying to fix it later is practical.
Amidst the mists and fiercest frosts,
With barest wrists and stoutest boasts,
I thrust my fists against the posts,
And still insist I see the ghosts.

Helping the earth is by no means a bad thing, dude. Not at all. Trying to get an internet forum into some kind of recycling program without really explaining your idea was a little impractical, though. Recycling isn't that important, however there are other, more useful things to do that can keep everything allll right. Do your best to limit the toxicity getting into the air, water and ground so that we can breathe, drink and eat without growing extra legs and whatnot.

I'm all for saving the trees and hugging the whales, too, so don't get me wrong. It's just that there are some major things we need to focus on, and recycling is not one of them.
