Not the point.

I just mean if you focus on nothing but getting money, rather than what you'd want to do with it, you won't go anywhere.

I know people who have been planning money-making schemes since they were kids, but if you handed them a cheque for a million they wouldn't know what to do with it.
Amidst the mists and fiercest frosts,
With barest wrists and stoutest boasts,
I thrust my fists against the posts,
And still insist I see the ghosts.

Uhm. Deposit it, would be a good start.

And then live off the interest.

I know EXACTLY what I'd do with a million dollars. I'd live off the interest, save the interest and build a house, then live comfortably for the remainder of my days, working part-time for a little extra pocket money.

Fo' srs.

A nice 4 bedroom house somewhere kind of secluded (but still near major commercial centres) where I can live comfortably. I'd invest a chunk of it into safer stocks that won't give huge retruns but in great quantity will ensure a continued income, and use a bit to splurge (lets face it, who wuldn't). I'm thinking a games room complete with a good selection of classic arcade games and proceed to live doing what I WANT to do, not live doing what I HAVE to do.

Fixed ;)

I strike my previous. I don't think I'd be able to sleep at night, living off interest gains.

I'd buy a farm and fall of the grid, I guess.
