Cupro's Maxim: All Furs are broken, to a greater or lesser

We describe everything in relation to the human condition; good and bad in relation to how things affect us.

"Broken" means there is something wrong with us that is not wrong with others.

I agree with that, however I think that defining somebody by what's wrong with them is like trying to compare the degree of decay of individual tomatoes in a basket full of rotting ones. It makes little sense. Trying to describe people in what's different seems a better way of going, because describing how broken a person is sounds like saying if they're bad or worse. It's not only black and white with grey in between, all the colours are mixed in too. To me, saying how broken someone is is about as useful as describing the orbit of a planet in a one-dimensionnal approach.

Argh! Sometimes I feel like I can't get the meaning across with mere words. I hope this doesn't sound like pure gibberish.

It's fine bud.

Taking an example from a movie, Donnie Darko, you can't judge someone's actions and their worth as individuals based on either just Good or Bad, Fear or Love, etc; there's the whole spectrum of human emotions and experiences to take into consideration, and even then that's not enough.

Right? o.o

I think whoever follows this 'Maxim' doesn't realise a very important truth.

We are all 'broken'. Each in our own way. There is truly no such thing as a perfectly normal, level minded person.

Furries are just more open and loud with their brokenness.

yes yes yes we're all imperfect somehow, i get the ideas here.

however, i agree with this maxim to a greater or lesser extent, depending on what fur is being used as an example.

i still haven't met any of you, and i am not accusing anyone here of being anything. this being said, the few furs i've met in my time have all been bad stereotypes of unsociable, unnattractive geeks.
i like to party, flirt and make out with really pretty sluts in bars, violently drunk-argue, make fun of people really hard, and throw objects at/through bus stops. i was not fitting in with the crowd discussing akhira (whatever the hell that is) and drinking rc cola in a dank basement full of fantasy board games and star trek fanfic paperbacks. the fact i really enjoy shamelessly flirting with the hottest thing i can find without any fear put me in a very small minority.

now, i am not superior to those people. at all. but between my experiences with them, and the language and topics and thoughts of most furs on the internet, i am led to conclude there are a hell of alot of furs out there like those guys i hung out with.
this conclusion agrees with this cupro guy's thought. alot of passive hobbyists with or without non-fur (should we say skin?) friends. alot of serious ones with zero social skills totally beyond repair.

this is what the guy was getting at. too bad he had to beat around the bush so much. he wasn't looking for an essay disecting the word broken. he meant all furs are losers to a large or small degree. i only partially agree with this. i think 'all" should be replaced by 'most'.

sorry everyone, we're a bunch of wierdos and geeks and losers.

but hey. this is just my one opinion.

Everyone is broken on the inside. Some of us simply show it, and some of us show it a lot louder than others.

My coworkers seem perfectly normal on the face of it. But after talking with them at length, I've found an interesting list.

- A black racist who thinks white people are a plague.
- A white racist who thinks white people should breed as fast as possible to outrun the other races.
- A general racist who wants to 'start a jihad on all those not of Lazerath' to quote them.
- A homophobe.
- A person that thinks that cheating on your partner is 'dishonest' and that polyamory is 'the devils way'.

I've yet to meet one person who wasn't clinically insane underneath.

Just be careful that you don't classify everyone whose views differ from your own as being 'insane' though Indy.

I mean, the last one there in particular... that's a pretty common belief. I know you're in an open relationship and that's cool too, they're two acceptable (perhaps one more socially acceptable than the other) opinions that just happen to clash.

There is a wide line between 'having different beliefs' and 'wanting to kill everyone with a certain skin tone'.

I mean, there's having respect for someone elses views, but if those views are rape and murder then I have no capacity for acceptance.

Oh yeah, for sure. The racists can kiss my ass, like I said, I was talking mostly about the last one there.
