Hummmmmm

Well for me here is my base in religion :D

For me I (hope that there is a Heaven or hell)

Now when it comes to the rest I always have this perpective.

I always give a posible yes and a posible no to everything that people tell me ither it is religion or anithing.

EX: A friend would point to me that a certain tree would be god. If I would say no and not bealeve him and that it would have actualy be god. When il die and iff there will be and Heaven il be screwed O.o.....

So that is my short version ^__^

I'm Wiccan.

I'm very tolerant of all religions, and I don't discredit any beliefs. Although it may seem like a weird concept, I believe that all gods/goddess are equally valid, that they all exist somewhere. It's hard to explain, sometimes...

I believe that there is a power, an unknowable essence. The Lord and the Lady are both a part of this essence. The different gods and goddesses of other religions, be it Athena or Jesus, are all a different faucet of the Lord or Lady. Different people have been shown different religions, because that is the best way for them to live a spiritual life.
Does that make sense?

Terry Pratchett wrote:A great philosopher once posited that he would simply believe in a God, as it caused him no loss: either he went to Heaven, or went nowhere. He smugly said that he may as well believe, because it was the logical option. When he died, he awoke to find himself surrounded by a circle of gods with baseball bats. The last thing he ever heard was:
"No one likes a clever dick."

I both admire and despise the social construct of organized religion. I believe its most important contributions are unity and ethics, and its worst contributions are conflict and people in silly robes telling me what to do.

As for me:
I have, in the past, proven that heaven and hell cannot co-exist; neither can exist in its own right; heaven or hell is whatever you think it will be; neither can exist as long as I don't believe in them; and other equally implausible metaphysicalities. And then disproved all of them.

Having the ability to refute my own beliefs, I've fallen to the only logical option: I'm a relative agnostic. What that means is: it doesn't affect my life in the slightest whether a God exists or not.

Hilariously, according to most doctrines, that would mean I wouldn't end up in Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory (or variations thereof), because at no point have I not believed in a God, or believed in one, stated a God exists, or that one doesn't. I haven't even said there might be  :D So I suppose that means I'll be standing around at the End Of Time with all the other dimensional escapists.
Amidst the mists and fiercest frosts,
With barest wrists and stoutest boasts,
I thrust my fists against the posts,
And still insist I see the ghosts.

The Johovah's Witnesses get a good afterlife method.  Some go to some sorta 'First Class Heaven', others go to 'God's Heaven On Earth', including sinners and nobelivers, who are given a THOUSAND years to reevaluate their options and if the choose so, can be redeemed and go to god's heaven on earth and, failing that, they just sorta cease to exist;  Pretty much what all the athiests are expecting anyway.

I'm Atheist. I don't believe in a God or higher power, although I sometimes find myself thinking about my Karma. xD

It is my personal belief that the world would be better if everyone could be self reliant and not depend on a God so much as to go to wars for that God etc. I'm fine with dealing with life by myself and not praying or hoping for a reward at the end of my run. I'm not saying I'm right, who knows. For all I know, there's a super rad after life and I'll be stuck in purgatory. I just think that I'll cease being.

Arguably, without religion, everyone would probably fight over something else because power struggles are in right now. (They're always in.)

I won't push my beliefs on people, and I don't want people to push theirs on me.

I just...I don't care.

I am agnostic, both in the sense that I believe that it is impossible to prove or disprove the existence of god, and the sense that I don't care if there is a god or not. God's existence or non-existence won't change how I live my life, and that, I believe, is what matters.

My Belief is fairly cloudy at times, I don't really believe any Religion is the 'correct' one, However I would like to think they are all right.. I like to think their is one creator and that different cultures have just displayed him or her in a different way for example, Dragons.. Generally the same idea but every culture has a different vision of them and lots would like them to be real but none have evidence. I consider myself spiritual not a zealot, I'm naturally somewhat of an empathic person.. But that's sort of off topic. If anything I'm closest to what Scarlet was saying, I believe in all and nothing and I like to use religion as a path to morality instead of letting it scare me into being a blind follower in hopes of a reward, If your a good person what else matters.

My own.
Close to "New Age Religion", but the word "religion" would be incorrect. Religion and beliefs are two different things.
First one is made to manipulate people's minds and another one is what helps you to live, understand the world and improve your life.
It is my own personal opinion.

3 things:

A belief doesn't exactly help you understand the world, does it?  It helps you make sense of it perhaps, but that's on an individual basis, since everyone has different beliefs.

Kodi...  It was epic because as you were talking about Religion being meant to control people, a banner add for the church of Scientology was displayed right underneath your post XD

Finally... is thinking that there IS an answer to everything a Religion or at least a belief system?  I mean... I don't have dogmas, but I deeply think that there is an answer to any question you can ask.  And by answer, I mean an answer based on scientific evidence.  If something happened infinitely far away or infinitely long ago or even if something happened beyond our current understanding of the world; I think science can explain it.  Not that we'll ever FIND the explanation... but it's nice to think that it CAN exist ^^
