Has a good range of effects (though its distortion is kinda crap) and it has excellent mic effects (like Gate, etc) that really improve the quality of vocal recordings.

that's pretty cool bro, steep investment there though, what kind do you have? i was gonna get one but i could never justify the expense (i don't play enough), even aiming for a lot less than that.

and ya distortion is rarely ever good on digital units anyway. as long as it has good reverb, ok preamps and some eq, i'm happy.

People coming into my work have referred me to Fruityloops. Might end up goin' with that then. Just need to find various computer drum set ups...which I heard Rock Band drums work. Patchcord to usb hook ups, quality synth computer cables, and a good usb mic.

I have a Tascam (though the exact model number I don't rightly recall). It was a steep investment and the fact that they don't make the CD burner for that model anymore is a bit frustrating but it works well as a mixer for when you're recording on the PC. It records at 24 bits, which is great digital quality.

I have a coworker downloading a program, fruityloops I think. Thanks for all your help. At this rate I should be ready for recording soon. I'm likely gonna end up going to Spaceman to get any instrument parts; I got my guitar there when it was still Songbird.
