Would you like some easy money ^^

Postby Featheredragon » 03 Jun 2009, 21:03

Greetings greetings my fellow fur friends :3 ^^

Normally I'd never talk finance or politics or anything like that on these forms 'cuz I'm here to relax, socialize with fellow furries, and have fun and I try to keep the universes separate :3

In this case however, I think some of you might appreciate knowing about this! ;)

Most of furries will probably agree, most of us could use some extra money and it just so happens that I've stumbled into a lucky situation that some of you may be able to benefit from.  So, my good fortune is your good fortune! ^^

Basically, it turns out that if you haven't filed an income tax return for any year(s) in the last ten, you may still be eligible to receive GST cheques from the government for those years.   (Yes, I called both Revenue Canada and the government GST phonenumber and they agreed! xD ) Also, it still applies even if you weren't working at all for those years!   In my case, I never filed income tax returns for 2001 and 2002 because that was prior to my ever getting a job (not counting a paper route years before that--but I didn't know about income tax then anyway...).  But, it turns out I was old enough to apply for GST cheques in both years!

So now, I basically went online to the Canada Revenue website, printed the income tax pages to fill out for those years, put in a whole bunch of zeros, checked GST cheque, signed, dated, and mailed it!  Now, it appears they owe me $200!

Not bad for filling in a whole bunch of zeros!  ^^

So, who knows, maybe some of you could get lucky!

xD

Keep in mind they were for years in which I didn't work.  $100 per year from Ontario as credit.

It's all explained on their website but basically, you qualify as long as you're 19 by the time you're scheduled to receive payment.  So, you can be 18 when you apply if over the course of the payment period you turn 19 at some point.  ^^
