What you say when someone always see the bad side of things?

Postby Zets » 13 Nov 2007, 16:41

So here is the context

I know someone near me that always tell the bad side of things when I talk to him.

Example!

Zets:Hey the weather really beautiful today!!

Him: It will darken soon

Zets:Hey man you got 95% On your last test your amazing!!!!

Him: Nfff It was just pure luck

And so on ^^;;....

So I was wondering what tips and advice that any of could give to me to try to make the things around him look more happy around him.

(Every advice is good! So there is no rong advice :)!!!)

Cause even if I may study in social working that is way not meaning that I know all the tricks that someone else would know. :D

Thanks in advance to those who shall reply^^!!!

Pessimism

Modesty

Pessimism + Modesty = Annoying

Tell them that ;). Sometimes it works. Other times it makes it worse. That's when you get out the baseball bats...

I knew you'd show your face here laughing or something. And honestly, I'm aggressively hating you.

Well there's a good reason I'm sure you'd know some one would come in here and laugh at that statement Vicks. I mean you've got a well earned reputation for hiding away in corners at parties with your laptop 24/7 till the party is over kinda thing. Whcih.. kinda defeats the purpose of even showing up

Yeah well I talk about a bunch of people here. There have ben such people all my life and the only ones I can tell that are not in the fandom and are in my life for the moment are both my stepparents, and they're not really smart, but manipulative at that. Otherwise, there are these people you try to ignore but no matter how much you avoid them, they find ways to screw your days real bad. Ashes is one of those who simply wait for the perfect time to land a big hit on me when he can. That's one of those things I totally hate. I never said anything about that party o.O

I was thinking more about when Vicks made the big thread about him peeing blood, but how he didn't feel like going to a hospital or anything.

Pessimism is hard to deal with Zets, I myself feel very pessimistic at times, and I'm sure I'm just as difficult to deal with as those people you speak of.

When I'm in a mood like that, I know I just want people to leave me alone... I know in my head that things aren't always as bad as I say they are... but its just a way of dealing with the world sometimes...

Low expectations leave little room for disappointment.

everything you say to someone who's in a mood like that willl just end up making them more pessimistic, I dunno, I just let people think how they want to think and just try my best to be there for them.

The worst thing you can do is to point out their mistakes... it just proves their pessimistic point, and reinforces there belief that things are as bad as they think.

Vicks: The Reason I believe Ashes made the comment he did, is that you yourself can be fairly pessimistic at times, it's a little ironic that someone who is pessimistic dislikes people who are pessimistic.

Now that you mention that, I do realize why my last roommate and his boyfriend didnt hang out well together XD Not because they were pessimistic, but overreactive XD Yeah, cant really go wrong with bipolar overreactive people ever. :O
