Tabletop RPGS?

Postby Moon-Drummer » 08 Oct 2009, 07:19

Out of curiosity, anyone up there in Ottawa play any tabletop RPGs?

I have experience with Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 and 4.0, as well as both the classic and new editions of the World of Darkness series of games.

I've not played tabletop games at an actual tabletop in quite a long time.

However that said I've played:
-Shadowrun 3rd and 4th Ed
-Rifts, Nightbane, Robotech and several other Palladium games.
-Starwars (Original WEG system)
-Heavy Gear
-D&D 2nd ed
-Paranoia
-GURPS

And a few others I don't recall over the years. Of those however I have the books for SR1st-4th ed, Robotech, Rifts, Starwars WEG, several other Palladium Books games, a few D&D D 3/3.5 as well as a small handful of 2.0 games, Heavy Gear and maybe one or two others I've forgotten about stored away somewhere.

Shame I'm not exciting enough to deserve to play these games with people.

If you look on noticeboards of comic book shops or local gaming organization noticeboards/website, there are often people that look for more players. Of course they usually make you go through a little interview to see if you're a good fit for their game. If after a couple game sessions they don't like you, then you get kicked out. The GM posted several times for new players. We went through 2 'new guys' so far... Both disasters... :p (No call no show 3 games out of 4)

It's more along the lines of 'Nobody really plays the games I do, either because it's not popular anymore, or because nobody cares', so I just go around playing collectible games. At least there's something good coming out of it.

Think I might be able to whip up a quick character and join in a game while I'm up there? Just as a one-shot appearance?
