So.
I just feel the need to brag about something I just got.
I stopped by the store I used to work at today and saw a game for the SNES I didn't know. "Starfox: Super Weekend", I'm sitting there looking at it (and the $30 price tag on it) wondering what the hell was up with this. So, against my better judgement I left it there and came home.
I was still curious about it so I started trying to find info about it online. Turns out it's a championship edition of Starfox that was made for a contest back in '93, Super Weekend being the name of the event. Following the contest the game was made available only through Nintendo Power magazine and was a limited edition with only 2000 copies being made.
It apparently plays the first 3 levels of Starfox but with a 5 minute time limit, and the contest was to see who could get the most points in that 5 minutes. Not great for gameplay, but a total collectible.
"Cool" I thought as I continued looking around, then I saw it... the various auction sites it's up on. The market price for this game is $350 - $400.
Needless to say it's now sitting on MY shelf rather than the store's, and no, you can't borrow it. The fact I talked the guy down to $10 on it (Come on man, it's only a 5 minute game xD) just makes me that much happier.
Anyway. I figured you all NEEDED to know that my already awesome collection is just that much more awesome now.
