Shit My Dad Says

Postby Ironklaw » 27 Aug 2009, 17:59

No, not MY dad. "Shit My Dad Says" is a Twitter account where a 73 year-old man's 28 year-old son keeps track of all the hilarious shit is cantankerous old man says. I don't have a Twitter account myself, but I read about this guy in the paper and thought I'd take a look. He's a foul-mouthed, angry old man and he's insanely entertaining. Here's an example:

Shitmydadsays wrote:"Your brother brought his baby over this morning. He told me it could stand. It couldn't stand for shit. Just sat there. Big let down."

Anyway, I just thought you guys might like this guy. He makes me laugh.

Also an excellent use of twitter:

With barest wrists and stoutest boasts,
I thrust my fists against the posts,
And still insist I see the ghosts.

4chan, pron, WoW, soduku, flash games, LiveJournal, Facebook, MySpace, web comics.

Most of the 1s and 0s on the web are entirely without merit.

That's what I like about it.

You can see the mundane and the exciting. It's sort of interesting. It's also a simple way to keep friends posted on what you're generally up to. You don't have to post constantly, doing it will actually just annoy anyone following you. So it actually requires thought.

Twitter is also a social equalizer.
Say you want to have conversations with someone famous, someone from an organization, or even just someone interesting you've never met.
You can do that easily.

I thrust my fists against the posts,
And still insist I see the ghosts.
