TL;DR : Too Long; Didn't Read. This abreviation is used as an introductino to a summary at the end of a post. It is courteous to placeit at the end of a generally long post. This prevents people from skipping your post entirely because they don't feel like reading the whole thing. It helps conversation flow better and stops people from posting the same idea twice. That is not all though. If you fail to TL;DR your post, someone may do it for you. This is generally a criticism (Although not always a bad one, as it could be constructive). Finally, never say "TL;DR" without actually writting a summary of what was said in a long post; it is a useless practice and goes against forum etiquette most of the time.
FTFY: Fixed That For You. I think this was originally created by gramer natzys, so it's use can be slightly controversial. If you truely feel that you had to decypher someone's post, it might be helpful to post a FTFY by quoting their original post and replying with what you think it might have meant. But, keeping this in mind, FTFY can be very insulting, can warp the original intent of a post and make you look like a douche. That being said,, there is a humorous way of using FTFY. You may take someone's post and warp the words, for example to create puns and word plays, or to tease your friends.

LOL: Laugh Out Loud: There are variants to this such as "Roll on the floor laughing" or ROFL. This just replaces laughter and has recently been adopted in common language, usually sarcastically. eg: "I lolled". There isn't much to say about this one, except that it has been modified to "Lollerscates" and "Roflcopter" at times.
This. When replying to a comment with "This", it is usually a sign that you agree with the stated argument, thought, etc. This practice is usually pretty lame, as it doesn't add much to a conversation, although within the context of a forum such as this one, where we actually know each other on a personal level, it could be useful to know if someone agrees with someone else's views. But even if you do, please add a few lines of text to explain yourself or make your point a little more specific.
That's all for me right now. Post away!
