It can, however, stab you in the back. I saw it happen to my friend when I showed him the game. He turned around just to see it lunge out of a portal and hit him in the face, killing him.

My friend's brother's girlfriend's cousin was killed by a Companion Cube. It's true. He was looking up this tube thing, and the cube just *WHOOSH THUCK*
